|"Cesar - do you know I got into Salsa Music & Dancing because of Son Como Son? When I first moved to Albuquerque for grad school, my friends & I were trying to figure out what to do one night & randomly ended up at the Cooperage, you guys were playing & I immeridately fell in love with the music & watching the Cubans dance to it. I signed up for some latin ballroom dance classes & started going dancing all the time, especially every time Son Como Son played. Now it has become one of the great passions on my life, in fact, last year I went to Cuba just to hear the music & dance every night. So I must thank you & the rest of the band for making a huge difference in my life!"

|"On a slow night New Mexico's #1 Salsa Band, Son Como Son pulls in as many people as most entertainers could only hope to pull in on a good night! One of their stomping grounds, The Cooperage of Albuquerque. A normal scene for a Son Como Son concert is arriving at around 10:30pm to a parking lot so full of cars that you have to park nearly a block away and run to the door if you want to get a space on the dance floor. I don't know how they keep it up? Every time.. Every single time, the band is explosive! I used to sneak in with a fake I.D. 10 years ago just to listen to them and I still get the same nervous-excited feeling every time I hear their music. Being a huge aficionado of music & dance, I'm always listening and watching and all I hear is musica completa from this outstanding group of musicians. If they get tired, you would never know it. César Bauvallet, Son Como Son's band leader, is notorious for walking around the entire proscenium a compás singing to the audience. César's humble leadership and connection with his band is so strong, he can be 150 feet away and still never miss a beat and communicate with the band as if he was inches away.
Son Como Son= They are how they are. It basically means they aren't trying to be something they're not. They are original. They're the real thing. This band doesn't need another good review. They are the reason why New Mexican dancers can't sit down when their music plays. Olé los buenos artistas."
